Business Analyst / Product Owner - Calypso

200zł - 240zł / hr B2B net + VAT

We're hiring an experienced Business Analyst with hands-on Calypso expertise. You’ll draft requirements, shape them with business stakeholders, and collaborate with the developers to implement new functionality. You will be responsible for end-to-end product delivery. This is a role where your effectiveness comes from genuinely understanding Calypso and the domain around it.

The Role at a Glance

  • Calypso Business Analyst / Product Owner
  • Work in a team supporting Fixed Income and Interest Rate & Credit Derivatives at a top North American bank
  • One of the largest Calypso deployments in the world
  • Fully remote for a top North American bank (for residents of Poland and Romania only)

This role requires hands-on Calypso experience: configuring and enabling trade booking (electronic and manual), pricing/risk workflows, volatility surfaces, rate curves, discount curves. A genuine grasp of derivatives (interest rate, credit, or adjacent products) matters more than years on paper. If you like digging into hard problems, aren't afraid to ask questions or just try things, and want to grow with a team that's actively expanding, join us.

Why Join Us?

  • Build on Calypso, working at one of the largest Calypso deployments in the world, on fixed income and derivatives workflows.
  • Real ownership: you’ll be part of the core business analyst team driving core changes, not merely providing support.
  • Join a growing team: the business is expanding, and Calypso's footprint is growing with it
  • Long-term, fully remote role with the stability that comes from working with a major bank

A successful candidate will have hands-on Calypso experience and a strong grasp of rate and credit derivatives. You should be analytical, curious, and comfortable asking questions or just trying things rather than waiting to be told. English proficiency is a must.

This is a fully remote role. You will be working through a Polish company that will provide the support and administrative assistance to make you successful in the role. We are looking for people to join the team long-term.

Only open to residents of Poland and Romania. Citizens, as well as legal residents with permission to work in Poland or Romania are welcome.

Time zone: you'll need a 3–4 hour daily overlap with US Eastern business hours — most meetings happen in the morning. Expect that to stretch during crunch periods.

What we offer

  • Direct collaboration: work face-to-face with the business and the development team
  • A team that values people: team maturity, with room to grow into parts of the domain you don't know yet
  • Flexibility & remote work: Fully remote position based in Poland or Romania with increasing schedule flexibility post-onboarding.
  • Competitive compensation: top pay and ample time-off options.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with key business stakeholders from Front Office, Operations, Risk and other teams on initiatives including issue remediations, small enhancements and larger initiatives such as rollout of new products and addition of new CCPs
  • Collect and drive requirements directly with business stakeholder, and advise on what's technically sensible and feasible within Calypso
  • Work on validation and testing of Calypso patches and monthly releases (MRs)
  • Set up and configure settings required for booking and pricing of Money Market and Derivative products
  • Build, configured, and maintain multiple pricing environments
  • Configure pricing parameters and derived market data required for pricing: curves (basis, discount, multi, FX, other) and volatility surfaces for optionality products
  • Configure static/reference data: calendars, date rules, counterparties, indices, etc
  • Independently investigate complex pricing-related issues and inquiries: NPV, accruals, settlement flows, cumulative cash, Risk, PnL, etc.
  • Build and/or modify Calypso extracts (MPE files and custom files) as required by other bank systems
  • Write effective documents such as BRD, test cases, and run books
  • Use AI tools to speed up requirements, testing, or delivery work where it makes sense

Requirements

Must have

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Product Owner experience
  • Experience with more recent Calypso versions (v17+)
  • Good knowledge of Calypso back office modules and processes - accounting, confirms, settlements
  • Extensive experience building and supporting Calypso installations in sell-side organizations, emphasis on front-office modules and functionality
  • Broad derivatives experience with emphasis on Interest Rate and Credit derivatives: product details, pricing, risk, electronic trading, cleared/bi-lateral
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to coordinate work efforts amongst multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and operate successfully within structured project environments.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity: read between the lines and fill in the blanks, ask clear questions, leverage AI tools to fill gaps, and generally know where to turn to proactively develop solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working in high-stakes, trader-facing environments.
  • Ability to maintain a 3–4 hour overlap with US Eastern business hours, with flexibility during crunch periods.

Nice to have

  • Experience using AI tools to speed up requirements, testing, or delivery work
